The ying and the yang?
Last night I poured my heart out in a post all about my day yesterday. Ironically, I "previewed" it and lost it. Not sure where it went, but POOF! it was gone. Just as well I suppose as yesterday was not a good day for me. Well, ok the day part was ok,but the night was really bad. It included elements just right for a teen sitcom, chaos in the a.m. of a large family trying to get ready at once to go to two different churches because they can't all agree on one. Toddlers not so quietly playing and voicing their feelings of wanting to go home "right now" instead of staying for the service. Meeting teen's former acquaintance in the church lobby and not recognizing the girl because of her makeup (and too much of it in my not so humble opinion) hence the discussion later between us about why makeup on a 13yo is not necessary; especially as much as said acquaintance was wearing. Church is followed with a reptile show at the local library. Nothing like snakes, tarantulas, various species of cockroaches and other creepy crawlers to make Mom squeemish. Afterward, Dad goes to work while mom attempts to make a quiet supper. Baby gets hungry, other 4 kids get boisterous. Mom serves dinner and goes to feed baby. Moments later mom & baby's silence is broken by cries and screaming because a food fight has broken out in the kitchen (first and hopefully the last!!). Teen daughter's favorite outfit is now covered in salsa. After instructing her on how to soak the stain out, a most unpleasant scent fills the air and we see 2yo old wiping something on his shirt and I'll leave it to your imagination what it was. Here's a hint, our only pets are fish. I remedy that situation and not long after the 4yo tattles that the 2yo got into the bathroom and made a mess. Big puddle on the floor, toilet is filled with tissues. Thankfully, I was able to clean it all up and there were no plumbing problems. After much lecturing, yelling etc ensues and still children are not going to their rooms and staying there, Mom cannot help but ask why in the world she had these lovely little monsters and how on Earth she has survived this long; they behave so well for everyone else!
The night ends in relative peace. Mother and teen daughter spend an hour or so talking about girl stuff while all brothers are asleep. Conversation is briefly halted when oldest boy sleepwalks and tells Mom many times over in a very toddler like voice that he is sorry for SCARING THE COWS IN HER BEDROOM! Now *that* was very funny and it was hard not to laugh while he truly believed it. Ahhhh the joys of witless dreamland!
It kind of made all the chaos earlier in the day worth it. Kind of ::::wink::::
Today was a moody day too,but ended with pizza, birthday cake and playing catch outside with the oldest son which I really do enjoy, while the two little ones (the littlest one especially) ran to and fro trying to catch and throw too. Watching the little guy (who is built like a linebacker) running around the cul de sac in his jammies and little bare feet calling out "Mee Mee, MEE frow ball" is just too darn cute.
And the best comment of the day? I pointed to my three sons and said, "You will be my Patriot, You will be my Red Sox and You will be my Celtic" My Celtic candidate stopped, leaned his head forward with a true look of sincerity, lay his hand on his chest and said, "No Mom, * I * am going to be your personal chef!" Well ok then, I'm not seeing a problem. ::::::::::smile:::::::::::

A daughter is the happy memories of the past...
and the hope and promise of the future. ~ Author Unknown

Lately, I've been trying to find just the right song to have played at my daughter's wedding this summer. I haven't settled on one yet,but I am looking forward to a sharing a special mother-daughter song with my "three dancing princesses" ...Barbie, eat your heart out!

Take her out to the ballgame!
KiKi will be going in style! I am so excited because I found two eBay listings for Red Sox baby items that I had hoped to find. The custom made Red Sox bonnet is made by a lady in my hometown of all places and the cheerleader outfit is one that I used to see in WallyWorld, but I was raising three boys so who knew that one day I'd have a baby girl to dress in it? Color me Red White Blue and happy! Neither one will fit her for a few months, but that's ok because the season will still be going strong and she'll be "wearing her colors" to show her support and you can be sure I'll have the camera ready! I'm even thinking of bringing her to have her portrait taken with a baseball backdrop; who says those are just for boys? LOL Bring on the peanuts and Cracker Jack because we're ready to hit one out of the park.....and over the Citgo sign!

Measuring up........
Lisa has a baby doll from when she was a toddler. Cissy is a rather large doll to say the least. Well, Lisa takes pix of KeeKee with Cissy periodically to keep track of her growth since she was so tiny when she was born. Both girls were the same length and only a few ounces apart at birth. Keep that in mind when looking at these.
Cissy & KeeKee age 7mos
Cissy & KiKi age 1 month
Is it me or does Cissy look like a GIANT???

Playing the devil's advocate....literally!
Here's my disclaimer: If you are a Yankees fan so be it. If you are reading my personal commentary on my personal blog and get offended, don't be because it's not directed at you.
That being said....what the !@#$ Tom? Ok so maaaaaayyyyyybeee you actually are a fan of THEIRS....maybe. If so, nothing we can do about it,but c'mon if a girl can't get her RED SOX loving "not-Victoria's Secret" panties in a bunch about this (gee, sorry Gisele LOL) then what reason is there?
Now admittedly, there are MUCH bigger issues in the world than this that I care about as we all do. When we were watching ESPN Sportscenter last night and saw this though, I nearly spit up my chocolate chip cookie! C'mon when in Rome ya know? Ok so he was actually in NY when this photo was snapped, but still. He's a Patriot so I guess I unreasonably assumed (we know what that gets ya!) that he wouldn't be caught dead in a Yankees hat. And it's not like he's a native NY'er anyway, he's from Cali! Ok Tom if you like THEM nothing we can do,but can you at least not wear this thing in Boston???? Please?
Ok I just had to play the devil's advocate. I mean I'm disappointed to see this photo, but the most important thing is who he's playing for and that's US the the New England fans and not the Giants or the Jets!
I think the sportscaster had the best comment though, "Isn't this like Jesus sporting a Satan tattoo?" Hell ya!
