Close, but no cigars....yet

I was a good patient all week. Stayed in bed or on the couch with a few brief exceptions here and there, but no heavy lifting, no lifting kids, no housework. Drank my water each day, took my medicine & my vitamins each day and basically felt like a lazy lump. Ok a lazy lump cooking a baby, but you know what I mean. Oh and I stayed in the house allllllll week.
SO.....I woke up this morning not feeling too well at all. Tried some black tea to quell my stomache...nada. Lay on my left side and drank water....nada. Contractions and all the other "fun stuff" (not) that would give one reason to think that labor is starting...at ****27 WEEKS***?!?!?!?!? Not one to push the panic button about myself, I hesitated to call the hospital, Auntie to watch the kids and D. out of work for what could be nothing. C'mon this is baby #5 I should be able to handle it right? I know I know.... Well, contrax went from every ten minutes to every 5 and were getting worse so I finally called. No time wasted by Auntie or D. they both arrived here at the same time from opposite directions (how good are they? LOL). Five minutes later, we were out the door to the hospital. Within about 10mins I was in bed hooked up to a monitor. Within a half an hour I was given a shot of Terbutaline to stop the contx. It worked. It gave me the shakes really bad,but it did its job. Some tests were run to see if the princess is ready to come yet and they came back NEGATIVE! YAY!! We just bought ourselves another two weeks. We were there about 2+hrs and they discharged me with instructions for what to watch for. No real theories on why my body is kicking into gear so soon, but the nurse told me that if I feel like this again, get in there and we'll do it all again. Cross your fingers, say a prayer that we have MANY weeks to go before I return. I've got 10 at least before she comes and that would be if she's delivered at 37wks. In the meantime, I'm off my feet, lots of water etc as I've been doing all week.
So that's my lovely little update for you. Thank you for the emails; I will reply as soon as I can. The laptop has not been available every day and I don't think I'm supposed to be sitting at the desk as much as I'm used to, tsk tsk.
Keep those "stay put" vibes and prayers coming, they're working :-)

Hugs to all!
